How to choose your best earplugs
If you ask me what's the best earplugs for you? I'd have to say this is a simple and complex problem.
Why is it simple?
Because you just have to choose what's right for yourself. Since everyone has their own special ear canals shape and their expectation for earplugs are various, there is no one best earplug for everyone. Over all, what's fit you is what best for you.
Why is it complicated?
Because there are a number of factors that influence whether earplugs are effective. These factors include objective factors such as the shape, size, length, softness, resilience, material, and sound insulation of the earplugs. Subjective factors include: the comfort you want, use it correctly or not. As for the subjective factor, I think you only know when you try it. So, let's go straight to objective factors.
(1) The shape, size and length of earplugs
Because everyone's ear canals are different in shape, size and length, different earplugs are needed to adapt to different ear canals.
(2) The softness and hardness of earplugs
Generally speaking, most people prefer soft earplugs. Too hard earplugs can make your ears ache.
(3) The rebound speed of the earplug
Rebound speed is a very, very important factor in determining the experience. Most people prefer earplugs with slower rebound speed, because this gives them enough time to insert the pressed earplugs into the ear canal in time. At the same time, the slow rebound will increase the pressure of the ear canal slowly and subtly, which will not cause discomfort too easily.
How about Drowsyme earplugs?
We have 10 different types of drowsyme, which cover almost all of the mainstream earplugs shapes and cater for the majority of the population. These earplugs are very soft, among them, G003 is slightly harder than others, but without careful comparison, it is hard to feel the difference(also is rebound slightly faster), in general, they are soft enough. Now, let's take a look at the features of the 10 drowsyme earplugs.

So, how about other types of earplugs?
Of course, you might ask me, why aren't other types of earplugs recommended?Such as silicone earplugs, such as wax ball earplugs, such as active noise reduction earplugs and so on. Well, they certainly have their advantages, but foam earplugs are the most economical and effective option when it comes to sleep. Let me explain why.
Silicone earplugs: sound insulation is much worse than foam earplugs. They are hard and not only easy to puncture the ear canal, but also may cause serious damage like easy to tear the eardrum because of the negative pressure in the ear canal when you get them out. If you sleep on your side, it's uncomfortable and also more likely to get pushed deeper into your ear canal(Becasue they're harder). They're good for swimming and things like that.
Wax earplugs: These earplugs are for those who just totally can't stand foam earplugs. Because some people just feel uncomfortable to insert foam earplugs into their ear canals anyway (although they're very small group and some of them never use a good pair of foam earplugs). Wax earplugs are not soundproof as much as foam earplugs, and they're more expensive, and have a shorter lifespan, because they're easily get dirty and stick to your hair and pillows, making them a nightmare for those who sleep on their side.
Active noise-cancelling earplugs: They seem like an advanced device, and they have a unique algorithm that allows the earplugs to collect the noise to analyse and emit the opposite sound waves to cancel out the noise. It sounds like a really good idea, and in fact it does have some effect. However, a pair of earplugs is often more than $100 and very large, making it uncomfortable to sleep with. The noise reduction is actually not as good as the earplugs. Believe me, I've paid over $200 for these earplugs, but they're not as good as advertised. You can also learn from the reviews of this kind of earplugs that you may not get what you pay for.
Finally, I hope you can find a suitable earplug.
